A unique blend of vocal and circus arts: Mystica is a performance that blends circus, theater, and concert. Hair-swinging performers float in the center of the room, presenting a ritual that gives voice to eight mystical women who lived between the 8th and 16th centuries. It is a unique performance—aesthetically captivating, musically powerful, and breathtaking in its physicality.

Directed by Kasper Vandenberghe, with new music by Timo Tembuyser and Jens Bouttery, the performers physically explore the construction of a spiritual microcosm in which everything and everyone is interconnected. A search for the lost undercurrent of mystical, feminine energy in our society.

The audience becomes part of what the performers are experiencing. We see every detail: tense, trembling muscles, tear-filled eyes, and glances that betray concentration, pain, and relief. Sound and movement merge into a work of extraordinary beauty. How can someone hanging by their hair appear so weightless?
